Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid Performance
For more efficiency and strength, a new hybrid powertrain has been created. With its latest 180 PS 1.6-litre T-GDi engine and 66.9 kW electric motor, the advanced full-parallel hybrid drive system produces 265 PS of combined power. At the touch of a button, the powerful 13.8 kWh battery switches to all-electric mode. When the electric-only range is exhausted, it seamlessly turns back to the gas engine, allowing you to go as far as you need to – and then plug in to recharge.
The newly designed 6-speed automatic transmission outperforms its predecessor in terms of transmission and fuel economy.
The battery pack is now positioned under the front passenger seats, giving you a boost in efficiency without sacrificing cabin or luggage space, thanks to the new platform.
The All-New Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid smoothly changes between its gasoline engine and electric motor depending on the driving situation. By using the electric motor to slow the engine, the regenerative braking mechanism charges the battery. The electric motor is driven by the energy stored in the battery, which aids acceleration, uphill driving, and low-speed driving.
The 13.8 kWh high-capacity battery has excellent charge/discharge characteristics, allowing it to maximize both electric driving and energy storage.
Take advantage of the electric acceleration. The 66.9 kW electric motor produces a lot of torque and is very powerful. It also has a lot of acceleration when it first starts up.

Keeping you and your family safe.
The Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid is designed to keep you and your passengers safe. In addition to six airbags – two front, two rear, and two curtain airbags – the All-New Hyundai vehicle platform has improvements in crash protection. It allows the car to better withstand the impact in the event of a crash while also minimizing space deformation. The All-New Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid is now competitive with premium class rivals thanks to new state-of-the-art Hyundai SmartSense safety features and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems like Highway Drive Assist.
Forward Collision-avoidance Assist (FCA).
When the FCA system senses sudden braking by the car ahead of you, or pedestrians or cyclists in your direction, it automatically brakes.
Blind-Spot Collision-avoidance Assist (BCA).
The device alerts you of traffic in the blind spot area by using radar sensors in the lower rear bumper and a front camera. In this case, if you set the turn indicator, it will sound an acoustic warning and brake to avoid a collision.
Lane Following Assist (LFA)
Lane Following Assist is standard on the all-new Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid (LFA). When turned on, it holds the car in its lane at speeds ranging from 0 to 200 km/h on highways and city streets.
The All-New Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid comes standard with Highway Driving Assist for the first time (HDA). The feature combines Lane Following Assist and Smart Cruise Control, and it uses sensors and map data to ensure safe operation while also automatically adjusting speed in congested areas. The driver can trigger HDA with a single click on a special button on the steering wheel.
