Mooney's Hyundai recently hosted an exhilarating day at Mondello Race Track, bringing together motorsport talents and showcasing the cutting-edge Hyundai IONIQ 5 N. This event featured our esteemed brand ambassador, Max Hart, along with motorsport legend David Kennedy, creating a perfect blend of experience and youthful energy.
Max Hart's Journey to Excellence
Max Hart's racing career began in 2011 with cadet karting, and despite a short stint, he quickly moved up the ranks. By 2018, he had claimed the Formula Vee Star of Tomorrow Championship with an impressive 8 wins out of 12 races. His success continued with multiple podium finishes in the UK Monoposto 1000 Championship and a notable performance in Asian Formula 4.
In 2020, Max transitioned to touring cars, making a mark with 7 podiums and a win in his debut season. His career highlights include numerous race wins, awards, and recognitions, establishing him as a formidable force in motorsport.
Max has been nominated for the 2024 Sexton Trophy Young Racing Driver of the Year award for the fifth time.
What is the Sexton Trophy? The Sexton Trophy, part of the Motorsport Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Year Award, honors the driver with the most potential to excel both domestically and internationally. Named after Walter Sexton, a pioneer in Irish motorsport, the trophy is a replica of the Phoenix Column, historically associated with the Irish Grand Prix in 1929.
First awarded in 1948, it recognises promising young drivers in Irish motorsport. The current holder is Alex Denning. The award includes a €50,000 support program.
