Dear all,

As I write today, I am thinking firstly of Christmas 1973, 50 years ago, which is when my Dad Ernie and I landed on the Long Mile road. We took over a very small filling station here in mid-December 1973 at a time of turmoil in the world with war in the Middle East, unfortunately, some things are still the same.

It was a tough time to start a new business, but we did not see that and approached the business with lots of energy every day.

As living standards rose, so too did the number of cars on the roads. Yes, we have had some very difficult years, but we survived and prospered and are delighted to be here today.

We now have the 3rd generation of Mooney's, my son Mark, working in the business and a strong management team all of whom started their careers with Mooney's, all focused on continuing that growth.

We have been blessed to work with some great franchises, but in particular, Hyundai’s back-to-back “World Car of the Year” awards tells a story that must be heard. Hyundai's pace of development is impressive.

We know with Hyundai that we can count on continuous improvements in all aspects to meet the needs of our customers.

During those years of growth, we trained hundreds of employees and gained many customers, all of which have contributed to our success.

We owe our existence to our employees and customers, and I would like to say a huge thank you for your continued support.

I have had the great pleasure of working with, training, and meeting some great people over the years in this industry.

To each and every one of you, and on behalf of the team at Mooney's, I wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for the new year,

Nollaig Shona Daoibh go leir,

Paraic Mooney
